Concerts & Rockstars

One of my friends on facebook said "Hey Josh i read your blog you totally stole the title from Hollywood Undead" and I was like "Say word!? Is that wassuh?!" I seriously said that. Obviously I was being sarcastic even though she couldn't hear me. But she got it. Congrats to Stephanie. BTW She is a major rockstar that is friends with me on facebook. We met at a concert. Zombiefist 3. Best concert EVER! But that title will soon go to Staind and/or One Republic and/or Chevelle in September because I'm totally going to the AK State Fair and it will be biblical.

Anyway her band is called Thera (Thee-RUH) I think they sound a little bit like Paramore. I don't know if she will take that offensive or as a compliment but that is my true opinion. I also got her autograph. She signed her CD right in front of me. Oh, and Teddy's too. Yeah thats right. Teddy. The one that is a rapper and has talked to Ginuwine and Lil Twist (Both of which are 'major' rappers) on his freakin cell phone. Yeah that one. I took him to his first 'rock' concert in August and we had fun. We seen Five Finger Death Punch and held the front-left row for the whole concert. So many things to talk about that concert, but I'll keep it brief. At the end of the concert we went outside and tried to catch FFDP before they got to their limo, but missed them by that much and then Teddy puked his soul out right in front of me. We had a LOT of fun.

I was going to blog about something else rather than a concert and famous people, but I'm on a roll now so I'll tell you about my concert experiences. Starting now.

My first concert was during Halloween 2009, at Zombiefist 2. (I'll explain this event later.) Me, my bro Softo, Jamie, Damian and my Uncle Jeremy went to witness 36 Crazyfists in Anchorage. Crazy stuff.. A bit too crazy for a first time concert attendee like myself and bro Softo. About halfway into the concert I was like "I'm going to fricking DIE" so me and Softo took the halls at the Egan Center (where the concert took place) and regained what little pride and strength we had left. We eventually manned up and caught 36's (36 Crazyfists. I call them 36) last like 3 songs and the Wall of Death. Oh the joys of the Wall of Death...

The 'Wall of Death' is pretty freakin stupid if you ask me. It's where the band that is performing briefly stops performing their song and plays a simple guitar riff or holds a REALLY long open E A D or D A D chord in the middle of a song. (I guess you'd have to know how to play guitar to get what I am talking about...) Then the singer tells the crowd to "Spread out" so that the crowded room will soon reveal an opening in the middle of the floor. After that predicament is sorted out, the drummer gives the signal and when the singer notifies the crowd to, "Unleash Hell," the band will resume playing the song they were playing while the crowd violently clashes and collides into each other thus ruining the perfectly divided assortment of concert attendees. Someone always gets hurt and leaves the concert early. STUPID. But it is amazing and hilarious to watch in the heat of the moment or even on youtube. I'm not suggesting that you stroll on over to youtube and search ''Wall of Death Zombiefist 2" Hint. Hint. Hint.

Zombiefist is an event that takes place on Halloween night, mainly at the Egan Center in Anchorage. And everyone can dress as slutty, stupid or awesome as they like without having someone go "Ha dumb." The bands even dress up. It is awesome. Like in Zombiefist 2, 36 dressed up as the teletubbies, except they were 'screaming death teletubbies.' Not quite the same as the other ones... And one of 36's opening acts dressed up as one of the 4 of the 44 presidents. I think they were dead presidents though. It was funny. Zombiefist 3 was alright 'costume-wise.' 36 dressed as ninjas and their opening acts dressed as cavemen, Joker and his psycho team from the opening scene in "The Dark Night," (They looked just like them too.) and zombies. And as usual everyone else dressed up. I swear every female in that place barely wore anything. Not too interesting except for Joker and his psycho team. Joker threatened to shoot the crowd with his little wooden toy shotgun. If thats not a dedication of 'love' toward his fans, I don't know what is. Me and Teddy wore lame masks except mine wasn't lame because it was $500 and everyone knew who I was posing as. Corey Taylor of Slipknot. Check it.

I recieved a lot of compliments and offers for wearing this mask and I deserve them because my dedication to the hair color(s) was messy and the mask was not cheap. The mask broke in two pieces in the middle of Zombiefist 3. I still have it.

So I've talked about Zombiefist 2 and 3 (I didn't make it to Zombiefist 1, which was apparently the best one yet, but I beg to differ) Now I wanna talk about the epic Korn concert. Crazyness at it's best. I almost died. That's it for the Korn concert discussion.

I like concerts. A lot. I have fun. Mosh Pits are exhilerating. Especially the ones that were happening during Korn. (sarcasm.) And I'm happy I lived through Korn to make it to Five Finger Death Punch and Zombiefist 3 that occurred later that year, 2010. Shout out to Danesa Holm who bought the tickets or was there to give me a ride to a ticketmaster outlet at Fred Meyers to get them. I never payed you back because you said "It's fine." I love you cuzzie you are the best.

P.S.
I am also very glad I lived through the Korn concert to meet these awesome people, The Mannings. Madison, Rylee, Marli and Denali are the (4 of 5?) "seesters." and Paulene and Patrick Manning are the parental figures and teacher/principal at our school for another year. Madison started this "blog" trend in PTH I think. Since she's been here like 6 of my friends started blogs. It's like she has powers of persuasion. Maybe it's becuase she meditates... :D Anyway, they are really cool people, and I've managed to involve them in a post about crazy metal concerts and death. Eat it.
